Position Territory Manager Waste Equipment
Job Description As a member of our Sales Team you will use your knowledge and skills to develop waste and recycling equipment solutions for our customers. If you have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, past experience in managing relationships with customers and partners, B2B sales, and a strong background in the Environmental, Waste, or Recycling Industries, or selling into the key customer base-Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Target, Jewel, Home goods or Schools, municipalities any business that would have the use to recycle cardboard or other waste materials. Everyone has seen the banded metal straps around the towers of smashed/compacted cardboard. Those machines are what my client makes and sells to end users and to distributors.

  • Consult with customers to ensure an effective waste & recyclable materials handling solution is selected.
  • Manage a large defined territory with regular travel (25-40%) to meet customers and prospects.
  • Identify potential growth areas and establish new accounts to increase market share within the territory.
  • Prepare written presentations, price quotations, and reports for customers and company management.
  • Conduct product information training to customer sales staff.
  • Exhibit at regional and national trade shows.
  • Continuously improve the customer experience and help nurture lasting relationships
  • Identify opportunities to sell waste and recycling equipment into new national accounts, dealers, and distributors within their region
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare financial reports.
  • Knowledge of reasonableness of operating data and analysis of results.
  • Ability to gain respect from internal and external customers while maintaining an independent and objective perspective.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Knowledge/ Experience
  • Related environmental industry experience.
  • Corporate Account Management experience
  • Experience selling into large accounts at the corporate headquarters level
  • 5 years experience (industry experience a plus)
  • College degree a plus (technical or business degree preferred)
  • High social confidence and ability to listen, ask, present, persuade and solve
  • Ability to adapt communication to different personality styles
  • Competitive desire to win
  • Able to travel 30%-50% within local region (multistate)
  • Technical aptitude (understand machine specifications such as pressure, force, volume)
  • Experience with Microsoft products, Salesforce, ability to create presentations
